What to expect from working with me

If you’re new to natural medicine then this bit is important as your experience with me will differ greatly from what you may be used to from your GP.



One of the guiding principles of natural medicine is to treat the person, not the symptoms, which is why our journey begins by exploring your complete state of health.



Using clues from your diet, lifestyle and symptoms, combined with any necessary laboratory tests, we will work as a team find and treat the root cause of your problem.



The key is to find the right plan for you. There is no one-size-fits-all, and the process may take time and patience. But I’ll guide you every step of the way, using my science-led approach to connect the dots and bring you the best results.

The 4-step process

Step 1: Understanding the whole you

After an initial phone call, I will invite you to a consultation which usually takes around an hour and a half.

During this time, I will ask lots of questions to help me build a complete picture of your overall state of health. This will allow me to uncover the true root of the problem.

So be prepared to run me through your medical history. We’ll then dive into your current diet and lifestyle and take note of any conventional medicines you are already taking. It can often be helpful to keep a food diary two weeks before seeing me, although this is not essential.

I will look at your eyes, tongue, nails and take your pulse to complete my evaluation. If necessary, I may advise you to take further tests such as stool samples or hair analysis.

Step 2: Creating your plan

Creating your plan
Once I have all the information I need, I will begin to formulate a plan just for you. It will address all areas of your life, giving your body with the very best chance to thrive.

The plan may include advice on diet, lifestyle, exercise, herbal remedies or any other suitable treatments.

We will go over your plan together in detail, either over the phone, online or face to face. I'll also give you a one-page summary to stick on the fridge to remind you of all we've discussed.

Step 3: Over to you

Over to you
Now it's time to put it into practice.

At this stage I would recommend keeping a diary so we can clearly see what aspects of the plan are working and what areas need tweaking.

Step 4: Follow-ups

Follow-ups
Your follow up appointment will focus on refining your plan. This usually takes place 4 weeks after our initial consultation and includes:
  • Monitoring your response to your plan
  • Sharing my professional summary of your test results
  • Explaining any changes and next steps with time for questions
  • Updating your one-page document to reflect the changes

This step can be repeated as many times as necessary.
