Ok who uses herbal medicine regularly ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ?! โฃ โฃ If you drink coffee โ˜• or smoke ๐Ÿšฌ then you certainly do!โฃ โฃ And you also can testify that herbal medicine works! โฃ โฃ I initially trained as a nutritional therapis when I first started studying herbal medicine.โฃ โฃ I wanted to learn it as another tool that I could use with my clients.โฃ โฃ I didn't resonate with overwhelming a client with synthetic supplements and acting as a 'green pharmacist'. โฃ โฃ Plants offered a way to support people consitutionally as well as physically. โฃ โฃ They can cool us down, warm us up ๐Ÿ”ฅ, lubricate or tighten tissues, move stagnation, rebuild us in a way that I don't think you can do with supplements alone.โฃ โฃ However, I've gone off topic! I wanted to say that when I started studing herbal medicine, I realised that there are unlimited ways that people practice herbal medicine.โฃ โฃ I thought herbal medicine was ingesting plants..as maybe a tea, a powder or a tincture.โฃ โฃ Seems a bit reductionist now! I soon learned that the traditions of herbal medicine are ancient and sacred. โฃ โฃ People would wear herbs as amulets for protection, burn herbs to clear sickness, learn the songs of the plants, bathe with plants, make alchemical preparations or simply apply herbs to the body.โฃ โฃ So I guess herbal medicine is simply using herbs as medicine...but how you do that is where it gets interesting! โฃ โฃ And this is why I love herbal medicine because anyone can connect with it. Not sure where January has gone! Apologies, I do love to find an excuse to avoid social media ๐Ÿ˜… so thank you so much to all of you that follow me despite my sporadic content! โฃ โฃ I'm deeply grateful and will be sharing more, as to be honest, that's why I decided to study natural medicine...to tell other people about it!โฃ โฃ Before, I trained as a naturopath, I remember reading Dr David Servan-Schreiber's book called Anti-cancer: A New Way of Life. โฃ โฃ He wrote about his journey with cancer and how even as a Doctor, he had no idea the role that diet played in contributing to cancer. โฃ I had no idea either! โฃ โฃ He had to do his own research and discovered the role that sugar plays in feeding cancer, how turmeric can kill cancer cells and how our lifestyles are the main factor in getting cancer.โฃ โฃ I was blown away and thought how come they don't teach this at school?! I thought about all the people I knew who suffer from chronic disease when help could be found simply from making different choices.โฃ โฃ I thought all people needed was this information and frankly if the government aren't telling us, then I guess someone needs to! โฃ โฃ I then studied nutritional therapy, naturopathy, herbal medicine so I could learn how to heal with food and herbs and now I want to share this information with people.โฃ โฃ So let me know what you want to learn about! I had a dreamy eclipse weekend with @drinkjinjin for their gut friendly concept store! โฃ โฃ I was so happy I got to chat about herbs all day, host a talk on detox and meet amazing people!โฃ โฃ Thank you so much to my crystal bestie @corecrystals who brought her amazing solar plexus healing crystals and crystal tea infusers which harmonise so well with herbal teas! Make sure you check out her gift cafe @corecrystals for Christmas gifts (and you can get some of my herbal teas too! ๐Ÿฅฐ)โฃ โฃ The weekend was full of gut healthy things like getting addicted to the incredible enzyme fermented @drinkjinjin, discovering and eating lots of delicious kimchi from the wonderful @onggi.uk (itโ€™s the best!) and scoffing so many incredible fermented fruit bites from @fermenti_uk plus Iโ€™m now living off @tonichealth blends. โฃ It was great to learn from other nutritional therapists like Rebecca @healthygutkitchen from @probio7 and @thegutfeelinguk and meet the beautiful @lets_eat_better_together โฃ Also โค๏ธ loved finally meeting IRL the mega babes @ayshabellwellness and @iamisabelrosee!โฃ โฃ The best thing is that everyone was there to share their experiences and knowledge about gut health. โฃ โฃ So important as many of us suffer with digestive issues such as wind, bloating, constipation, pain, cramping, diarrhoea and itโ€™s miserable. There is so much we can do to support gut health from herbs, diet and lifestyle. โฃ โฃ ๐Œ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ฌ๐ž๐ž๐ค ๐ก๐ž๐ฅ๐ฉ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐งโ€™๐ญ ๐ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐ฎ๐ฉ! โฃ The intestine regenerates every 5-7 days so making changes will make a difference!โฃ โฃ Find friends like everyone at the Gut Friendly store and we are all here to help on your journey.โฃ โฃ ๐ŸŒฟโœจโค๏ธ
